About:

I graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics in 1997. I completed my Master of Arts Degree at Cukurova University, Department of Ceramics, in 2002. And I completed my Ph.D. at Hacettepe University, Department of Ceramics, in 2009. I have had two solo exhibitions and participated in several exhibitions in Turkey, USA, Spain, Argentina, Croatia, Romania and Dominican Republic. I have also received 4 awards. These awards are; “Award of Excellence” of The 2nd Cluj International Ceramics Biennale, “Achievement Award” of The 25th Istanbul Contemporary Artists Exhibition, “Mention Award” of The 2nd Mosaic Biennial of Argentina International Modern Ceramics Museum and “Special Award” of The 8th Altin Testi Ceramics Competition. I have been working as an academician for 18 years in Turkey. At the moment I live and work as an independent artist in Switzerland. I am trying to shape concepts and to catch instant feelings with the expressions through my works. Sometimes with exaggerating the scene and using sybolic forms, I try to create a dramatic or humorous atmosphere. It is important to me to give the right message in the strongest possible form. My color use is parallel to this aim. I use simple colors and matt surfaces with my artistic works. Mostly I use the combinations of white, black and red colors. I use hand shaped and molded pieces together. I prefer to create combinations of unified pieces. I also like to use other materials and to create other combinations in my works. I was already using digital prints with my ceramic works together. Lately I started to work with other modelling and molding materials too. The essence of life is change. I think individual change and confrontation is so important for changes. I'm trying to shape concepts and to catch instant feelings with the expressions through my works. Sometimes with exaggerating the scene and using sybolic forms, I create a dramatic or humorous atmosphere. It's important to me to give the right message in the strongest possible form in seconds.
